Frio country song festival

We went away this weekend with Dave and Kristina to stay at a cabin and listen to some country music! We spent a little time at the river too! Friday was a very intimate song writer acoustic session with six artists doing sets in pairs. We also saw a giant bug called katydid and I had some time to read for the first time in awhile!

Friends in Austin

Well I dropped off the blog wagon ages ago. Catching up made me hesitate starting up again, so instead of catching up I will just carry on!

Friends Katie and Jeremy from Seattle and Vishal from PA visited us in Austin last week for a collaboration with Kyle. We made a trip for BBQ at the Salt lick and even vegetarian Vishal was nice enough to go!

Last album from a our trip awhile ago... finally! We spent a few days at Dave's family's ranch in the hill country, exploring the land, fishing, walking, driving, and relaxing.

Big Bend - Burro Mesa Pouroff trail

This little trail takes you to the place where all of the water from the mesa above pours down, making interesting rock where it has been worn away by the water.

Big Bend - Hot Springs at the Rio Grande

We stopped briefly at a place with hot springs right at the Rio Grande. We were right next to Mexico! Some people walked over there, even. The river was quite low, and the hot springs are naturally fed.
