Our front and center tickets

Kyle entered us for the online lottery after midnight Thursday night for tickets to the Shakespeare in the Park show at the theater at Central Park. They are showing Into the Woods, which is a favorite musical of mine from my childhood. Tickets to Shakespeare in the Park are free but can be time-consuming to come by, or are on a lottery basis, depending on how you try to get them (one can also stand in line for a long time to get them). We only knew about this amazing opportunity because Kyle's parents have tried several times to go to it, only to be rained out!

It turned out that we basically won the lottery! We not only got tickets, but we were 5 rows back in the center of the theater, though admittedly the theater really didn't have any bad seats. I have never been so close to a performance before! Also, a number of the actors were famous actors, though we had to look them up to realize who they had played in movies we'd seen. We felt extremely lucky to be there and had a most wonderful time. Unfortunately we were not supposed to take pictures, but I did take a rogue picture of the set before the show started, just for a souvenir.
