Fast food of America: McDonalds

I've been thinking lately about what sorts of things I want to do while I live in Texas. Many of them are exciting and adventurous things that may or may not happen. One that I came up with recently, though, is both easy and ordinary, but would be new to me. There are a lot of fast food places in Texas that are new to me. Many of the chains haven't made it to Washington, and if they have, they didn't make it to Seattle. Regardless there are lots of places I haven't tried. In light of this, I'd like to try something from as many of these places as I can. Now I don't want to eat fast food regularly or anything, but I figure a lunch every couple of weeks would be fine.

With that in mind, Kyle and I went to McDonalds. Now, I certainly have been to McDonalds plenty before, but I had never had a McRib. I've read about the sandwich's cult following, so when I heard that it was back I wanted to try it. Kyle and I split one. It was tasty enough, especially the barbecue sauce. Still, the meat was very clearly processed and had a squigee feeling to it. I wouldn't seek one out, but I am glad that I have finally tried it!
