Time in Austin

I stayed in Austin this week because my boss is out of town for awhile. We have had several evening activities keeping us busy. Kyle's birthday was on Monday! We did some of the celebrating for that back in October when we went to the Star Trek convention. The holiday party for Kyle's department was on Monday evening, so we went to that. It was pretty neat. We had to dress up a lot for it (Kyle even put on a suit and tie!), so it was rather fancy, though then for dinner we had fajitas with chips and queso, so that seemed a little odd together. Tuesday evening Kyle had some sort of nerd meet up group gathering that I didn't go to. Finally, Wednesday afternoon and evening, Kyle and I celebrated his birthday. We went to see "Life of Pi" and then went to dinner at Asti Trattoria, a tasty Italian place near our apartment. It was great to spend the evening together! Some gifts and cards for Kyle have come in the mail and made him feel really special, so I think it has been a good week, and it is nice to be able to spend some extra time together.
